Data Warehouse Training

University data is complex. Training gives you the framework you need to understand and use the Data Warehouse effectively.

Penn Data Warehouse Introduction for New Users -- This brief ( 30 minutes) online course in Knowledge Link will help you answer the following 'big picture' questions about the Data Warehouse:

  • What is the Data Warehouse?
  • What does it contain?
  • How can I use it?
  • What user support services are available?
Relational Database System Concepts -- This 35-minute tutorial (not in Knowledge Link!) will introduce you to basic concepts about relational database management systems, such as tables, primary keys, and indexed columns.

Data Collection Training Options

In addition to BusinessObjects training, recommended if you write or edit queries, you definitely need to familiarize yourself with the kind of data you plan to use. Occasional classroom workshops are offered in addition to the recommended and always-available online options below.
