Tentative ISC Networking Budget Assumptions FY 2002 - 05 (Continued)
Internet2 participation is assumed. Full costs of Internet 2 participation should not be in central service fee. There should be an institutional subsidy for Internet2 connectivity and participation. Networking will continue to get $350K of Internet2 subsidy through FY 2005. (Should ISC apply for RFDF grant again? Last year ISC requested and received $200K.)
Electronics costs are based on a three year replacement cycle.
ISC will upgrade routing core and do an additional 25 Fast Ethernet or Gigabit building upgrades.
Networking will run a GigaPoP (MAGPI) and seek Internet2 revenues of $300K a year from area institutions through FY 2005.
Should the Central Service Fee users subsidize the 1400 public labs, kiosks and central pool classrooms?
