ISC will charge a competitive rate for voice services. For existing Telecommunications services, there will be no change in rates in FY2002. Rates will be evaluated for FY2003-07. The intention is to deliberately generate a surplus of about $1.2M a year to replace the phased-out allocated monies.
ISC should charge a competitive rate for video services and possibly charge students directly in FY2003.
Sufficient Internet bandwidth, reliability and redundancy are critical. Internet traffic is doubling every six months – cost of bandwidth is relenting a bit and will soften impact.
